Mexico Human Rights Advocates at Risk – National Human Rights Network Reports

redtdtThe failure of the Mexican State to fulfill its human rights obligations, in particular the right to defend them, is what the document aims to highlight. It is a report on the situation of advocates between 2011-2013, carried out by the National Network of Human Rights Organizations “All Rights For Everyone” (TDT Network). It also draws attention to the lack of interest in and commitment to respecting advocates’ work. A national context of militarization of public security, a neoliberal economy project contrary to economic, social, cultural and environmental rights, and a system of impunity and injustice have favored the continuing and growing attacks against those who exercise the legitimate task of defending human rights.
