Since beginning in 1998, we have carried out a variety of central activities to meet our objectives. At this time, we focus in two principal projects: the School for Municipal Leaders (see the menu item to the left) and Social and Political Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples of Oaxaca, Mexico Municipalities. See “Projects” on left side menu.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
“Social and Political Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples of Oaxaca, Mexico Municipalities” aims to enter the arena of municipal governments, public politics and the Oaxacan State level Judicial system in order to increase the visibility of and participation by indigenous people in their own municipalities and at the state level.

Ethnic and gender issues form the basis of our central perspective and move us to promote activity on four broad areas: strengthen the autonomy of communal and institutional institutions, animate grassroots citizen participation to increase effectiveness of efforts to defend and expand political rights, offer training to indigenous organizations and promote structural change at the municipal and state levels.

This project will last for two years, 2005-2006 and is supported by funding from the Eurpoean Commission in Mexico as well as EDUCA's own funding an resources.
